The work on the road connecting the Super Corridor to Pithampur will start next month. This route will be about two and a quarter kilometers long and will have eight lanes like a super corridor. Probably it will be started after the work is completed by May. With its construction, the airport management will be able to acquire 20.84 acres of land in front of the new terminal and the work of expansion of the airport will begin.
On October 1, the cabinet had approved the transfer of land in front of the new terminal to the airport management. Although a condition was laid that the management would be able to start the development work only after acquiring this land, When the alternate route of Bijasan and Pithampur road going through this land will be ready. This is because this route will be closed if the management acquires the land. Earlier also after this thing came to the fore, the administration had talked about taking the road from this land itself.
However, after the order of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on the matter of reducing the land for expansion, it was agreed to build a road to connect the Pithampur road from the other side of Bijasan Tekri to the end of the Super Corridor. Its responsibility was given to IDA. A few days ago, IDA had issued tenders for the appointment of consultants for this. Subsequently, Mehta Associates was appointed as the consultant. IDA CEO Kumar Purushottam told that the project for the new route has been prepared. Work will be started from December this month after issuing its work tender. Probably the work will be completed by May.
